STRANG, Okla. (AP) -- A Mayes County man is killed after being thrown through the sunroof of his sport utility vehicle after crashing near the town of Strang.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says 55-year-old Jimmy Joe Creekmore of Strang died at the scene of the crash about 10:30 Saturday night along a Mayes County road.
The patrol says Strang was westbound at a high rate of speed when he lost control and ran off the road. The vehicle rolled twice, ejecting Creekmore through the sunroof.
The patrol says Creekmore was not wearing a seat belt.
