LAWTON, Okla. (AP) -- Lawton police say a homeowner shot and killed an apparent burglar in the northwest part of the city.

Deputy Chief James Apple says the homeowner found a man inside his home and shot and wounded him then tried to hold him in the front yard while calling police.

An attorney for the homeowner says the burglar then rushed the man who then shot and killed him.

No names have been released.
