OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Oklahoma City police say an 8-year-old girl who said she was abducted from her apartment last week has changed her story. The child said a man pulled open the screen door of her southwest Oklahoma City apartment while she was playing on October 17. He grabbed her and took her to a waiting car where she was covered with a blanket in the back seat.

When he tried to pull her out of the car just a few blocks away, the child told police she bit the man on the hand and ran to a nearby house, where police were called.

Three days later, police said investigators had found little evidence to support her account.

Sergeant Gary Knight says the girl recanted her story, but he provided no other details.
