A second man is now charged in a bizarre case that authorities suspect was a murder for hire.

Records show that Carl Akins is now charged with first degree murder and solicitation of murder in the death of his ex-wife’s boyfriend, Michael Dubin.

Police say Akins hired someone to kill Dubin, who was found shot to death in his Broken Arrow home August 15. At first, officers thought he committed suicide, but they changed the case to a homicide when the bullets didn't match the gun found at the scene.

The suspected gunman, 18-year old Isaiah Jennings, was arrested weeks after the crime. Charging documents say Akins paid Jennings $1,500 to commit murder, then provided the gun, a car and showed him the victim's house.

Akins was already charged with conspiracy to commit kidnapping. Police say he wanted to abduct his ex-wife. Detectives say Akins hired several people to do the job. Investigators believe the hired men posed as bounty hunters and even made fake ID's to support their claims to try and kidnap Mrs. Akins.
