A teen is discovered dead inside a wrecked car. Oklahoma Highway Patrol Troopers discovered the wreckage around 11 a.m. Sunday near 81st Street and U.S. Highway 97.
Troopers say 18-year-old Jack Steenbergen of Sapulpa was speeding on 81st Street near Highway 97 when he ran off the road. The Honda Accord was going nearly 80 miles per hour when it slammed into some trees, said troopers. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says the vehicle rolled onto its side, hit several more trees and a fence before coming to rest on its top.
Steenbergen suffered massive head injuries and died at the scene, said troopers.
Authorities Steenbergen was trapped in the car between eight and 10 hours before he was found. Troopers say the car was hidden by trees.
