OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- An Oklahoma City man has been sentenced to life in prison without parole for the death of his girlfriend's mother
Twenty-four-year-old Jason Bales was convicted of first degree murder Friday for the death of 36-year-old Stephany Glass. Glass was strangled before her body was doused with muriatic acid and buried.
Bales maintained he only helped dispose of Glass' body in June 2006, even though he initially told police he had killed his teenage girlfriend's mother.
Glass was killed on June 11, 2006. Bales and his girlfriend, Jordan Mshai Kemp, reported her missing the next day, so her body was not discovered until weeks later.
Kemp, who turned 17 in January, pleaded guilty to her mother's murder as a youthful offender.
