NORMAN, Okla. (AP) _ For the first time in five years, Oklahoma's baseball team won't open the season in a tournament.
Coach Sunny Golloway announced the 2008 season Thursday, which includes a 27-game Big 12 Conference schedule and will end with the annual Bedlam Series with Oklahoma State.
OU opens the season February 22 with a three-game set with UCLA, one of 10 opponents that participated in the NCAA Tournament last season.
The schedule also includes 29 home games, with the home opener coming against Arkansas-Pine Bluff on February 26. There also will be three contests against Rice, Houston and Tennessee in the Houston College Classic beginning February 29.
The Sooners return 11 letterwinners from last year's squad, which finished 34-24 overall and 11-6 in the Big 12.
