OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Two more Oklahoma counties are being declared disaster areas because of severe storms, flooding and tornadoes from August 18 through September 12.
The state Department of Emergency Services and the Federal Emergency Management Agency say Ellis County in western Oklahoma and Latimer County in the southeast are now eligible for public disaster assistance.
There are now 22 counties across the state approved for disaster assistance because of the severe weather in August and September.
The counties are eligible for federal funding to help remove debris left by the storms, repair infrastructure such as roads and to implement emergency protective measures.
The counties approved for public disaster assistance are:
