SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP, N.J. (AP) -- Two big-rig drivers are dead after a fiery head-on collision in northern New Jersey.

New Jersey police say the accident on Interstate 78 near Springfield Township snarled the evening rush hour commute on Monday. Local lanes were closed for cleanup and investigation.

Investigators say a preliminary investigation indicates the driver of a truck in the westbound lane lost control, hit the divider and flew into the air over it, striking an eastbound truck head on.
