Racetrack For Sale

Blue Ribbon Downs in Sallisaw is for sale. A Choctaw Nation spokesperson has confirmed to a Sallisaw newspaper, the racetrack has been put on the market. Choctaw officials declined to reveal the asking price, but say the price was negotiable.

The Choctaw Nation has operated the racetrack and a casino at the facility since 2005.

In 2003, the Choctaw Nation purchased the racetrack from the Sallisaw Municipal Authority, which had foreclosed on the racetrack.

After the Choctaws purchased Blue Ribbon Downs, they spent over a year expanding and renovating the racetrack so the Choctaws could include electronic gaming as well as a racetrack, making the facility a racino.
