A cold front that is expected to stop a string of summerlike days triggered storms Monday that knocked out power in some parts of northwestern Arkansas.

Utility crews were called out to restore electrical service to homes and businesses in Lowell, Rogers, Springdale and Tontitown.

The Storm Prediction Center of the National Weather Service said Monday that some storms throughout the state Monday could have damaging winds and hail.

Temperatures reached 90 in some parts of Arkansas during the weekend. By the end of the week, high temperatures are expected to be in the 70s and 80s with lows in the 40s and 50s.
