The Oklahoma Transportation Commission awards more than $88 million worth of contracts on Monday. One of the contracts includes fixing the piers on the I-244 bridge over the Arkansas River. The $1 million project should begin by the first of December and will take about three months.

The commission also approved a reward for the contractor who built a bridge on Highway 88 near Claremore. The company finished the bridge 30 days ahead of schedule, so it received a $150,000 bonus.

The commission also voted to speed up the repair process in the 24 counties damaged by tropical storm Erin.
