OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- The Oklahoma Transportation Commission has awarded a contract for $23.8 million of work on the Crosstown route for Interstate 40 in Oklahoma City.
The latest project will involve building a series of bridges east of Agnew Avenue. One of the bridges will connect with a new boulevard underneath the Crosstown.
The work will cover about three-fourths of a mile and is scheduled to begin in November.
The state got three bids on the project and awarded the contract to the low bidder -- Muskogee Bridge Inc. and Allen Construction Co.
The commission acted Monday at is regular monthly meeting.
Oklahoma Department of Transportation officials estimate the entire project will cost $557 million.
