Thousands crammed into the Tulsa State Fair on the final day on Sunday. They were determined not to let the rainy weather keep them away. The News On 6’s Chris Wright reports people were crowding into the midway for one last spin on the Ferris wheel and other rides. Organizers say turnout for the fair this year has been consistent each day. They say the Tulsa State Fair this year was as well attended as previous ones.

"We've had great attendance, great weather for the most part, we've had a little weather that's brought the numbers down for the most part,” said Tulsa State Fair Event and Marketing Manager Amanda Blair.

Besides one last chance to get on the rides, the final day of the fair offers one last opportunity to eat all that food, like the fudge.

"They indulge every day of the fair believe me. People buy more on the last day, thinking that they're going to take it home and put it in the freezer,” said fudge maker Joseph Mathys.

Others enjoyed a pizza on the stick. Some say it tasted even better following the Sooners’ win on Saturday.

Inside the QuikTrip Center, kids continued to bury each other in the sand. In the barns, the prized heifers received some last minute pampering before being paraded in front of the judges.

"This is one heifer that really does enjoy this job,” said Taylor Winter, who is showing a heifer at the Tulsa State Fair.

As soon as this year's Tulsa State Fair ends, it is time to begin thinking about next year.

"As soon as the fair ends, and it's in the history books, we'll keep on working throughout the year to provide a great event for the city of Tulsa,” said marketing coordinator Amanda Blair.
