Tulsa city leaders showed their appreciation for more than 300 iron workers at Tulsa's BOk Center on Tuesday. Construction crews raised a steel beam in a "Topping Out" ceremony Tuesday morning.
The beam came decorated with an American flag, evergreen tree and a banner to honor a worker's son, who was killed in Iraq.
Former Tulsa Mayor Bill LaFortune, who spearheaded the arena, was on hand, and says the design will provide a pleasant experience for crowds.
"Here it's all open and has a whole different feel than anyone's ever probably had before in an arena," said Bill LaFortune.
