MONTREAL (AP) _ Former Oklahoma State golf standout Scott Verplank leads the way as the United States closes out a win in the Presidents Cup in Montreal.
The U.S. team scored 19 1/2 points to 14 1/2 points for the International team.
Verplank completed a 4-0 week with birdies Sunday on the 16th and 17th holes to beat Rory Sabbatini 2 and 1.
Verplank, a captain's pick last year who was mysteriously benched the first day of the Ryder Cup, extended his winning streak to six matches in the Ryder Cup and Presidents Cup.
Two other former Oklahoma State players, Hunter Mahan and Charles Howell III, were on the winning U.S. team.
