NORMAN, Okla. (AP) _ Oklahoma defensive end Alonzo Dotson will have double duty the rest of this season.
He has a family tradition to uphold as his uncle and grandfather each played in the NFL. And now he's playing for an injured teammate.
Dotson moves into the starting lineup for the third-ranked Sooners in tomorrow's game at Colorado because of a season-ending torn Achilles tendon suffered by John Williams.
This is the third time Williams has suffered a season-ending injury and Dotson says his heart sank with the latest injury.
And he still wants to continue the family tradition of playing in the NFL. His uncle Santana was a member of the 1997 Super Bowl champion Green Bay Packers and grandfather Alphonse played for John Madden's Oakland Raiders in the 1970s.
