OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- A soldier from Harrah is the latest Oklahoma casualty in Iraq.

The Department of Defense says 38-year-old Staff Sergeant Kevin Brown died Tuesday in Muqdadiyah, Iraq, after an improvised explosive device exploded near his vehicle.

Brown was assigned to the 6th Squadron, 9th Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, in Fort Hood, Texas.

A Cavalry scout, Brown joined the military in 1988. He deployed to Iraq in October 2006, according to Fort Hood officials.
