Officer Is Victim In Hit And Run Accident

Tulsa Police are investigating a hit and run involving an off-duty Tulsa Police officer. Just before 10 p.m. Friday an off-duty officer witnessed two men trying to break into cars near 13th and Columbia, authorities said. According to police the off-duty officer went to confront the suspects, who got into a getaway car and pinned the officer between a parked car and their vehicle.

Neighbors in the area say they heard gunshots. The News On 6 has learned it was the officer who fired those shots.

The off-duty officer has been transported to a Tulsa hospital to be checked out.
