FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) _ No one has grabbed more passes in the NFL this year than New England newcomer Randy Moss.

But Moss' teammate Wes Welker isn't doing too badly in the reception department either.

The former standout at Heritage Hall High School in Oklahoma City had three catches on the Patriots' first series of the season and scored their first touchdown in a 38-to-14 win at the New York Jets.

On his first possession, Tom Brady directed four of his five passes at Welker, who caught three of them.

On the last catch, Welker took the ball in the flat, decked a defender and sped in for an 11-yard touchdown, doubling his career total as a receiver. He also returned a kickoff for a 95-yard touchdown in 2004.

Welker was the first player coach Bill Belichick chose when he started rebuilding his mediocre wide receiver corps. The others were Moss, of course, and Donte' Stallworth.

Welker says it hasn't taken him long to adjust to Brady. He says the quarterback tells him where to go and he tries to get open.
