MOFFETT, Okla. (AP) -- The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says the body of a drowning victim in eastern Oklahoma has been recovered in Arkansas. Troopers say witnesses reported the victim jumped last Thursday into the Arkansas River from the State Highway 64 bridge in Sequoyah County near the Arkansas state line.
The witnesses say the victim surfaced once then disappeared in the river.
The body was recovered Sunday afternoon in Arkansas by state police and the Fort Smith Fire Department.
The victim's name hasn't been released.
