Martinez Williams Appears In Court

A Tulsa man accused of killing another man during a backyard robbery this week has made his first appearance in Tulsa County District Court. 27-year-old Martinez Williams is accused of killing Steffan Schlemme Tuesday afternoon.

Steffan Schlemme was with his father, putting together a weedeater at a home near 7th and Zurich when Schlemme's father says Williams approached them and asked for money. Schlemme was going to give Williams some cash, but Tulsa Police say Williams demanded all the money. That's when we're told Schlemme put up a fight.

Williams is being held without bond on a first degree murder charge and $1,000 bond on two robbery charges.

Williams will be formally arraigned later this month.
