It is time to step up to the plate. Some Tulsa restaurateurs are inviting customers you to take a swing at hunger in Tulsa's first Restaurant Week. It is a weeklong event benefiting the Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma.

"We felt like the restaurants have a responsibility to kind of step up and help with the hunger insecurity in Oklahoma," says Tim Baker, owner of The Brasserie Restaurant & Bar.

Twenty upscale restaurants like The Brasserie, the Melting Pot and the Chalkboard are taking part. Ten percent of all sales go to the Food Bank. The George Kaiser Family Foundation will match up to $12,500.

The event runs through Saturday.
