Two dozen area Marine reservists and a Navy Corpsman reported for active duty Monday morning in Broken Arrow. The Anti-Tank Training Company Tow Section will support a Weapons Company out of Fort Lejeune, North Carolina. Following a few months of specialized training in California, they will deploy for a seven to 12 month tour of duty in Iraq.
"Today we're just doing some pre-deployment, getting ready for training, doing a lot of paperwork, loading up some Humvees, equipment and such,†said Lance Corporal Brandon Barnes. "I'm very excited, motivated to go."
The Marines already have men and women serving in Iraq with the 3rd Battalion and 23rd Marines.
