OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ A hotline for reporting damages from flooding and storms since August 18th will be shut down. The Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management says the Oklahoma Damage Assessment Hotline will close Friday at 7 p.m.
Oklahomans can call (877) 216-1618 from 8 a.m. until 7 p.m. each day to report damages. Callers are asked their name, address of the damaged property and the type damage to the property. They're also asked if they have a financial loss because their business or place of employment was closed because of the severe weather.
Officials say the reports are also needed to support the state's case to add more counties to the federal disaster declaration. That declaration currently includes Blaine, Caddo and Kingfisher counties.
