OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ Traffic fatalities in Oklahoma are down this year when compared to the same time in 2006. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says that 444 people have died this year in accidents on state roads. Through August of last year, 488 people had died on state roads.
The OHP says that in August, 60 people died in traffic accidents in the state. That's nine fewer than in August 2006.
