PHOENIX (AP) _ Residents of Phoenix have endured a record 30 days this year of 110-degree or hotter weather.
The Arizona capital's previous record for number of days of at least 110-degree readings for a single year was 28, set in 1970 and tied in 2002.
Thursday's high was 111, and the National Weather Service forecast Friday's to be 110.
The Weather Service issued another heat advisory, in effect between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m., for western Maricopa County, including the Phoenix metropolitan area, as well as for northwestern and north-central Pinal County.
