JONESBORO, Ark. (AP) -- Arkansas State has a brutal non-conference schedule -- starting with the Indians' opener at #4 Texas on September 1st.
ASU will also play #15 Tennessee, Southern Miss, Southern Methodist and Memphis.
The Indians will take away more than the potential for moral victories. The school will take in $1.7 million in total. The Texas game will pay ASU $700,000 and Tennessee will pay $625,000.
Athletic director Dean Lee says the games give ASU athletes a chance to showcase themselves and the program.
