MADILL, Okla. (AP) -- Warm water and rotting vegetation are considered the likely cause of what's being called a minor fish kill that's left 200 to 300 blue catfish dead at Lake Texoma.
The fish were fond on the shore near the Bridgeview Resort area.
Fisheries biologist Paul Mauk with the state Wildlife Department says the situation is improving with the wind blowing. He says calm and overcast days last week allowed the water quality to deteriorate and reduce the oxygen levels in the lake.
He says officials are testing the water and say the quality is improving.
