PURCELL, Okla. (AP) _ An attorney for country music singer Johnny Rodriguez says he's reached a plea agreement with prosecutors in McClain County on drug and alcohol charges against Rodriguez.
Rodriguez was stopped for speeding in June in Blanchard just west of Oklahoma City. He was arrested after police found what's believed to be marijuana, methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and an open container of beer in his pickup truck.
He faces felony charges of possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of marijuana and driving under the influence of drugs and a misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia.
Lawyer Dee Oliphant says a plea deal has been reached but he wouldn't reveal details. A hearing is set for October 10th to finalize the agreement.
Rodriguez is from Laredo, Texas, and had six Number 1 hits on the country charts in the 1970s including ``That's The Way Love Goes.''
