OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ Oklahoma City and Tulsa are both in the top ten in a sports magazine's list of the best cities for minor league sports. Oklahoma City ranks 3rd and Tulsa 8th among the 242 cities rated by “SportsBusiness Journal.â€
The magazine says attendance for minor league baseball, hockey and football in Oklahoma City increased by 12% despite pro competition during the temporary stay of the NBA's New Orleans Hornets. The magazine also praises Bricktown Ballpark as one of the best places to watch a baseball game.
The Journal says Tulsa is a tradition-rich minor league baseball market and that attendance rose more than 6% during the past five years for baseball, hockey, football and basketball games.
