Bixby Police discover dozens of boxes of personal documents dumped behind a Bixby business. Police officers say they got an anonymous tip that someone was dumping documents behind the Sherwin Williams store in the South Park strip mall at 110th Street and South Memorial. Officers arrived and found 70 boxes of personal records, including names, addresses, social security numbers and bank accounts.
"It has the potential to be very serious, so we want this information and this case to be looked at very thoroughly, and we want to find out who dumped this and why. We're going to get to the bottom of it,†said Bixby Police Chief James Kite.
Chief James Kite says many of the documents are linked to Utica Title and Escrow. He says it's illegal to dump that kind of information in someone else's lot. And even though it's a misdemeanor crime, Kite says there is a possibility for jail time.
Bixby Police tell the News On 6, they are working to get those records shredded.
