OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ More revenue is flowing into state coffers. The state Treasurer's Office says revenue collections for July, the first month of the new fiscal year, climbed by $4.2 million. According to a preliminary report released Tuesday, that's 1% above collections for the same month in 2006.
Collections were $21 million, or 5.3% above the estimate upon which state government's budget is based.
Income taxes were the only area seeing a decline, down 7% from a year ago. Sales taxes were up 3.2% and collections from the natural gas tax were up 4.5%.
State Treasurer Scott Meacham said collections indicate the state's economy remains healthy.
