A search for a 7-year-old boy who fell into the Cimarron River Saturday has been called off, said the Highway Patrol.

The boy was swimming with his stepfather and other siblings when he went under, said authorities. The stepfather tried to find the boy but could not. Rescue crews frantically searched the area near Perkins for several hours, they plan to bring in sonar equipment Sunday to help locate the boy's body.
