An 8-year-old girl drowned on Tenkiller Lake Saturday. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says Mayra Ortega of Fort Smith, Arkansas, was swimming near Fisherman's Point when she went under. Her mother cannot swim.

Divers from an Oklahoma City dive shop were nearby. They found the girl and performed CPR until rescue crews arrived.

The girl was flown to the Tahlequah City hospital where she was pronounced dead.
