GUTHRIE, Okla. (AP) -- A convicted sex offender from Guthrie is behind bars, accused of making indecent proposals to an underage girl. Thirty-eight-year-old Robert Lee Hairell was arraigned Friday on felony charges alleging he solicited a 14-year-old girl.

Prison records show Hairell is a registered sex offender with a previous arrest in Texas for lewd proposals to a child.

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation says the latest investigation began when a person posing as a 14-year-old girl sent Guthrie police a copy of an Internet chat log between her and the suspect. During the investigation, OSBI agents discovered an underage victim to whom Hairell is alleged to have sent lewd pictures.

Hairell remained behind bars Saturday on $100,000 bond.
