FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) _ Arkansas receiver Marcus Monk could miss the Razorbacks' opener against Troy on Sept. 1 because of a bone bruise.

Monk was hurt in practice Thursday and the bruise was diagnosed after an MRI exam, which did not reveal any structural damage to the knee, the school said Friday. Monk is to be re-evaluated next week.

Monk caught 50 passes for 962 yards and a school-record 11 touchdowns last season. He also holds the school record of 24 career touchdown receptions.

Arkansas went 10-4 last season and finished ranked No. 15 in the nation.
