A mother hopes crowds in town for the PGA can help solve her daughter's murder. Brittany Phillips' death has been unsolved for nearly three years now. She was raped and killed in her south Tulsa apartment. News On 6 crime reporter Lori Fullbright reports her mother is on a mission to bring national attention to the case.

Maggie Zingman is standing on hot concrete, braving heavy traffic and 100-degree temperatures, all for her daughter Brittany Phillips, who was murdered nearly three years ago. Zingman feels this is a chance to get her story to people from out of town.

"Because PGA is here, a lot of people are from out of town. I keep trying to get national coverage so maybe one of these people will know somebody from New York or Washington State or wherever,” Zingman said.

Tulsa police have used DNA to clear more than 800 suspects. They suspect the man was moving through this area when he raped and killed Phillips inside her south Tulsa apartment in October of 2004.

Zingman feels national coverage may ring a bell with a detective working a similar case or encourage testing of a man arrested for rape elsewhere.

"If he was passing through, then he may be doing this elsewhere, and that scares me,” she said.

Zingman recently convinced America's Most Wanted to place Phillips’ story on their website, and she's placed information about the murder on MySpace and YouTube, all in her determined effort to hunt down a killer.

She's even turned her car into a moving billboard. Many people ask her why she doesn't just give up.

"I feel like I have to do this for her, because it's the last thing I can do for her,” Zingman said.

After all, a mother’s love is a very powerful weapon.

Anyone with information about the murder can call Crimestoppers at 596-COPS.
