OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Oklahoma City police arrest the driver of a dump truck on a negligent homicide complaint accusing him of fatally hitting a teenager on a city trail.
Police say 14-year-old Thomas Glenn was walking or jogging south on the trail about 2 p.m. near Wiley Post Airport when the southbound truck backed over the teen.

Officers say the boy apparently wasn't aware of the truck and the truck's driver, Jose Alfredo Quinonez-Nunez, didn't realize the boy was on the trail.

Thomas died at the scene.

Police Sergeant Mike Klika says Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers inspected the vehicle and found it failed state safety requirements for dump trucks. Klika said a beeping device triggered when the truck goes into reverse wasn't working but that's not why the truck failed inspection.

Officers say Quinonez-Nunez had a valid driver's license and was the only person in the truck at the time of the accident.
