FORT CHAFFEE, Ark. (AP) -- New equipment has arrived for Oklahoma National Guard soldiers who are training for deployment to Iraq. More than 2,000 soldiers with the 45th Infantry Brigade are training at Camp Gruber in eastern Oklahoma and at Fort Chaffee in western Arkansas.
General Harry Wyatt had complained in March that the brigade was short on everything from rifles and body armor to trucks and trailers.
But the equipment is now arriving at Fort Chaffee and includes more than 2,000 M-4 rifles, new body armor as well as new helmets, boots, sunglasses and underwear.
