AUSTIN (AP) -- Texas freshman defensive tackle Andre Jones is sought Thursday on an aggravated robbery charge.
Austin police say the case involves an incident that landed a former Longhorns player in jail last weekend.
A warrant accuses Jones -- a top recruit from El Paso Andress -- of aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon. That's a first-degree felony.
Bond is $40,000.
University of Texas athletics officials had no immediate comment.
The Longhorns begin fall football practices Monday.
Sophomore safety Robert Joseph, who was suspended last month and then announced plans to transfer, was arrested Saturday and charged with the same offense.
They're accused of a holdup last Friday at an apartment complex.
Police say Joseph is accused of displaying a weapon, and Jones indicated that he had a gun.
Cash, video game equipment and cell phones were stolen.
