A busy Tulsa interstate is shutdown Thursday afternoon following an accident.

Two vehicles, a box truck and a car, collided on I-244 near Sheridan around 1:45 p.m. The impact caused the truck to overturn onto its side, and liquid spilling from the truck forced the closure of the interstate.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol shutdown all four westbound lanes of 244 from U.S. Highway 169 for about an hour. All four lanes were reopened Thursday evening.

There were injuries in the accident, and at least one person was taken to a Tulsa hospital. The extent of the injuries is not known.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
