TULSA, Okla. (AP) _ Tulsa opens practice Thursday for the first time under new head coach Todd Graham.

Graham served as defensive coordinator under form coach Steve Kragthorpe for three years, and the two won together. They helped rescue the program from college football's scrap heap.

Graham spread his wings as Rice's head coach last year and worked a miracle of his own. Despite an 0-4 start, the Owls went to heir first bowl game in 45 years.

Kragthorpe went to Louisville at the end of last season, and Graham's back to continue what they started together.

Graham says he wants the Golden Hurricane to be the best-conditioned team and the team with the most mental toughness in America.
