Man Arrested In Roommate's Death

A dispute between two roommates in Tulsa leaves one dead and the other in the Tulsa County jail. Tulsa Police say they were called to the Somerset Apartments at 2240 South 137th East Avenue around 10:15 p.m. Monday. 30-year-old Daniel Watkins told Tulsa Police he wanted to evict his roommate. Police told Watkins it was a civil matter and there was nothing they could do.

About an hour later, Watkins called police again, this time to tell them he stabbed his roommate. 48-year-old Donald Holder died at the scene from multiple stab wounds.

Watkins was booked into the Tulsa County jail on a complaint of 1st degree murder.

Holder's family told the News On 6, they are devastated by his death. His mother, Mary Carter, wrote this poem to her son.

Dear Son,

You fought the devil on this decaying earth, but I have you loved from the time of your birth.

You once told me "Mom you don't have to cry anymore,â€ but I am today, God has taken you home with Him and I will have to say that's okay.

I tried to tell you to keep love in your heart. That seemed to be so hard for you from the start. So I prayed for you and told you to keep God at your side and He will help you, I know in my heart that found that to be true.

God has forgiven all of your sins, now he has given your life back once again.

This is not a good bye but I will see you once more, I know that you will open your arms for me at the Heavenly door.
