There are new developments in the dispute between the Hilldale School district in Muskogee and Dewayne Pemberton. Pemberton was the principal at Hilldale High until March when the school board voted to fire him, citing unprofessional conduct.

Pemberton appealed his dismissal in court. A Muskogee County District Court judge ordered Pemberton and the school district into mediation. The judge will select a mediator by Tuesday.

The courts have allowed Pemberton to continue his work as principal until the dispute is settled.
