Family Mourns Two Kids Killed In Shooting

A family mourns the loss of two young shooting victims while police around the state hunt for the man accused of pulling the trigger. Investigators say 33-year-old Josh Muller is still on the run Monday. The News On 6â€™s Ashli Sims reports they say the shots he fired into a car early Sunday morning, killed a 16-year-old and a 12-year-old.

Leah Fuqua's mother says the day her daughter died she was blinded by shock and anger. Twenty-four hours later she says she can now start to see blessings through her pain.

"I mean look, look at these kids, this memorial site. These kids have been out here for 48 hours, ever since this happened,â€ said Fuquaâ€™s mother Teresa Hill.

Early Sunday morning, Hill's 12-year-old daughter was gunned down.

"Leah, the one we're here for today was already passed away, before we even got here. The other guy was already passed away,â€ said witness Tricina Bailey.

Hill says she thought her 12-year-old daughter was at a cousin's house.

Police say Fuqua and another 12-year-old girl were picked up by a woman and taken to a bar parking lot. They say the woman was assaulted, and the girls took off. That's when the woman realized her wallet was missing.

Investigators say she told her husband, Josh Muller, and he went after the girls, ramming the Durango they were sitting in and peppering it with bullets. Fuqua and 16-year-old Deriko Ross were killed. The other 12-year-old girl is still in the hospital.

"If it was just over a wallet, they didn't need to be shot,â€ Bailey said. â€œThey should have just called the cops and let the cops handle it, instead of taking some little girl's life. It wasn't right."

And this grieving mother agrees. As she stares down at a daughter she can now only see in pictures, she wants justice.

"I'm the kinda person I feel like a life for a life. You took my baby. And who are you? You ain't God. You don't give life. You don't take it,â€ Hill said.

Police say Comanche County deputies had Josh Muller surrounded in a house overnight, but he somehow escaped. Deputies found his vehicle outside Lawton, but police say he has survival skills, and they still believe he's armed.
