NEW YORK (AP) -- The New York Yankees sign right-hander Scott Williamson to a minor league contract Sunday.

The former Oklahoma State standout went 1-0 with a 4.40 ERA in 16 appearances with the Baltimore Orioles this season and was designated for assignment July 4th.

The 31-year-old Williamson also has played for the San Diego Padres, Chicago Cubs, Boston Red Sox and Cincinnati Reds in his nine-year career.
