MUSKOGEE, Okla. (AP) -- The former manager of the Muskogee Civic Center has been accused of using public funds, vehicles and employees for his own personal use.

Lucky Tarkington, who had been suspended with pay on July 6th and fired Wednesday from his job, filed a notice of appeal Friday, making his letter of dismissal public.

Muskogee's City Merit System Board will hear Tarkington's appeal next Wednesday. Tarkington says that he won't discussion the allegations now, but that he definitely will have a comment when the time is right

Tarkington is a member of the Oklahoma High School Girls Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame. He retired after the 2003-2004 season after 26 seasons as Muskogee High School's coach and won more than 500 games in a 32-year coaching career.

Muskogee Police Chief Rex Eskridge says the department is almost finished with its investigation into the allegations against Tarkington.
