RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil (AP) _ Sixteen-year-old Samantha Woodward of Edmond has won a silver medal in the 100 butterfly at the Pan American Games in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil.

Woodward finished second to teammate Kathleen Hersey of the United States. Woodward swam the race in 59.98 seconds to Hersey's pool record time of 59.21.

Woodward also competed in the 50 freestyle and finished sixth.

Woodward is also a member of the U.S. 400 freestyle relay team.
