TULSA, Okla. (AP) -- An investigation of a traffic accident Sunday by Tulsa police results in the arrest of a man who had escaped from prison.

Tulsa police say they were investigating a one-vehicle crash when a witness told them a suspect had fled on foot after crashing the vehicle.

Police found the suspect, Eric Magallanies, near the area of the crash and took him into custody.

During the investigation, police learned that he had been driving a stolen vehicle and that Magallanies had escaped from Avalon Correctional Facility in Tulsa.
